SEND Review: right support, right place, right time

Category: Education, EHC Assessment, Useful reference

Web Editor2022-12-06T00:09:02+00:00

On 29 March 2022, the Government launched a long-anticipated SEND Green Paper, recommending a national improved SEND system for children and young people with SEND.

Entitled SEND Review: Right support, right place, right time, it proposes new national standards for SEND to make provision more consistent, from early years through to further education across education, health and social care. The Green Paper has been published alongside a white paper: Opportunities for All: Strong Schools with Great Teachers for Your Child, which sets out a vision for new attainment targets in literacy and numeracy, an academy-led education system and a drive to increase attendance at school.

Right support, right place, right time is of course already sitting at the heart of what we are helping families to obtain for children and young people with SEND. So we welcome and watch with anticipation the outcome of this 13-week SEND and alternative provision public consultation to see if the changes will go far enough.
