We are here to help

Send us your questions, and one of our volunteers will provide the information you need to guide you on your journey.  Please be patient, we will respond when a volunteer is available to reply to you.  If your situation is complex or requires more detailed advice, you may be guided to one of our other services.

Using our email support service

  1. Please pre-register here. Fill in the form and please select Email Service  under *Services on the form.
  2. You will be emailed a security ID. Keep this safe.  You must be registered with us to use this service and without your ID unfortunately you will not receive a reply. If you have used our services before and already have a security ID, please use your existing number – you do not need to register again.
  3. Email us at hello@sossen.org.uk using your security ID in the subject line and keeping the email under 250 words.
  4. Our volunteers will not be able to review any attachments.  If you need support that involves documents, please see our Services tab for other services available.  You may be directed to these services depending on your enquiry.

Composing your email

To help us provide the best support, please specify the assistance you need by considering the following:

  • Does your child have an EHCP or do you need guidance on how to apply?
  • Do you want to know how to appeal to the Tribunal Service or how to contact the Tribunal during your appeal process?
  • Is your query related to LA or school decisions?
  • What is the specific issue? For example, is it about statutory procedures and timeframes for EHC needs assessments or Annual reviews, Tribunal issues, a child out of school, phase transfers, placement issues, etc.?
  • Is your child struggling to attend school and you need guidance on next steps?
  • Keep your email short, and related to the question that you need answering, we suggest under 250 words.

Please be aware that complex cases requiring legal guidance may not be suitable for this service and healthcare and social care questions are outside our scope.  We look forward to helping you with your particular questions.
