- Sunday 30th May 2010 - The Three Peaks Challenge.
After over 1200 miles, the 5 intrepid climbers completed their 3 Peaks Challenge in the target time of 24 hours. They were tired but hugely elated; 10 photos have been posted on the www.justgiving.com/sossen3peaks website. And you can still donate! But my sincere thanks go to Nat Frisken, Matt Horseman, Mat Newcomb, Toby Wilson and Henry Leeson for their huge effort and to Guy Salmon who so generously loaned us the Land Rover for the journey - it proved absolutely invaluable. The target they set of £4,000 has been exceeded and with Gift Aid, has reached £6,000 - a brilliant response to match a major effort. - Friday 18th June 2010 - Midsummer Night's Dream Ball
Our Annual Summer Ball went off with a real swing on Friday 18 June. Over 80 guests partied until after midnight and raised a massive estimated income of £5,500. Our heartfelt thanks go to all those who supported us on the night but particularly to those who donated items for the Auction: to Stacey for donating a Hair do; to Marion and Bob for donating some earrings and for allowing their Provence Cottage to be used again; to Jamie and Mo who prised a champagne and canapé event at the Westbury, a jumper from Ralph Lauren and, more spectacularly, a signed England Rugby Shirt; and to Julia Alexander for convincing her boss that an iPod Docking Station would make a great Auction item. Between them, these people (and of course those who bid for the items) raised £2,600. Marvellous. Roll on next year! - 18th September & 9th October - APPEALING A FINAL STATEMENT OF SEN.
This 2-day workshop follows the success of the one held previously this year and is designed to help parents prepare their own case for Tribunal. It would also be helpful for those appealing a 'refusal to assess' as well. Click HERE for details and how to apply. - Have you any suggestions for future workshops?
If so, please e-mail admin@sossen.org.uk with suggested topics and SOS!SEN will consider organising an event to cover the needs of the majority.
